The 400,000+ accounts in e-gold is great, but there are two statistics that I would like to see improve.
1) The ratio of funded to total accounts This ratio has been shrinking for a long time and now stand at 0.34 way below its peak of 0.45 in early 2001. This means that only 34% of all account are funded compared to 45% early last year. 2) The average funded balance. It is now only 12.44g per account. This number has been going down for years, but since the beginning of the year, is now showing sign of some stability. The question is how to interpret these numbers. Why are there so many unfunded accounts? Why are there so few grams in the funded accounts?
