Some information for you,

Palladium (Pd)
A soft, ductile, steel-white, tarnish-resistant, metallic
element. It is alloyed for use in electric contacts,
jewelry, non-magnetic watch parts, and surgical
instruments. Atomic number 46; atomic weight 106.4; melting
point 1,552°C; boiling point 3,140°C; specific gravity
12.02 g / cm^3 (20°C). SOURCE: http://surepure.com

I think it will be easy to extract the palladium using a
chemical solution (acid) that will destroy the material the
strip is made from but not the palladium - have a look at
http://www.chemweb.com - maybe you can start a Palladium
Recycling Kit business. See http://www.goldkit.com

Also a great source with info on palladium is the North
American Palladium Company - http://www.napalladium.ca
