As I have posted several times, a client side wallet would slow the scamsters down quite a bit. Of course, sooner or later the scamsters would create viruses that installed fake wallets on people's systems, but most people have precautions against viruses in place, plus if one put a fair bit of work into creating an idiosyncratic appearance for the real wallet, it would take a similar amount of work to imitate the appearance of the real wallet. --digsig James A.
