This is not exactly true. It is true that most banks will not recognize or accept the $10 Silver Liberty for deposit. However, I have spoken to clients who have successfully deposited $10 Silver Liberties into their bank accounts. Some banks actually have some sense, you know! My thinking is this matter is that this bank accepted it precisely because it was silver, and they recognize that perhaps the US Dollar offers no further advantage to alternative currency.
