Hi, after upgrading to 4.4.x kernel, I noticed performance dropped considerably.
while investigating using perf, I noticed
e1000_power_down_phy_copper_80003es2lan
seems to be suspiciously active:
samples pcnt function DSO

my question is whether this is expected or some known issue?
hardware is quite old, with 4 onboard interfaces:
05:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82573E Gigabit Ethernet
Controller (Copper) (rev 03)
07:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82573L Gigabit Ethernet

If I could provide any further info, please let me know.
