Hi Ivan,

The truth is we came to a point with the technology where we needed to
find possible early adopters in order to proceed with its development.
What we found is that while we had a lot of interest from various parties
to try out the technology, their existing Java code bases were not
structured in a way that made translation feasible. The conclusion we came
to is that while the technology made sense if you were starting a new
project that was purposefully designed with the intent of being deployed
to both the desktop and the web, it did not make sense if you had to
rewrite an entire code base just to optimize it for translation
(especially if you were dealing with really large code bases). We are,
instead, focusing on using pure web technologies and then hosting them
within Eclipse. As an example, check out the work being done to host
OpenSocial Gadgets within e4 -
http://wiki.eclipse.org/E4/OpenSocialGadgets.

Having said that, nothing says that the technology cannot progress forward
through community involvement. If anyone is interested in contributing to
it, I would be happy to help them get started - just drop me a note.

Thanks,
Bogdan
