I do not see where your problem with kernel-2.6.8.1-12mdk + pppd + motherboard asus A7N8X-X Deluxe (if I remember well ?) comes from... maybe the nforcedth (approx.) driver is needed for your nforce2 chipset ? @++ Ben'. aka baud123
