btw, i built my kernel with frame pointers enabled so
that i might be able to offer a stack trace for debug
of the wait_ms issue. here's what i found from my
dmesg:
===

so perhaps UploadSwapPage is doing something

by this, i assume you mean /etc/ppp/peers/adsl

i was able to confirm on a friends setup using an
aztech ethernet adsl modem, that the setting of
mru/mtu 1492, also using rp pppoe, was succesfull.
i attempted varying lcp-echo-failure and
lcp-echo-interval both upwards and downwards but no
noticable effect. startadsl -d does pass the right
options to pppd. from ps output, i can see pppd debug
but no increased verbosity seen in /var/log/messages.
i'll need to see if i need to modify my syslogd.conf
in case any of the debug msgs are being filtered. i
also tried putting in kdebug and debug into the adsl
file but no change. so i believe this means i need to
modify my syslogd.conf.
i will post again as soon as i have further info.
please let me know if anyone wants to look at the
wait_ms/IdmaUploadSwapPage issue. if desirable, i can
setup kdb on this kernel and see if i can help someone
knowledgable to debug/resolve the issue.
thanks,
melkor
