I am finding that this takes a large amount of time (several minutes).  I normally open IDEA, reopen my project (~15,000 classes) and go off to read my mail.  Some time later it flashes up...

   updating caches is taking longer time more than 3 min. do I need to set anything else. I disable the Local VCS.
