I've just upgraded to 636 hoping it would cure one of the (few) issues I
have with this IDE, but it seems not to. I also did a quick search through
the mailing list archive but can't find any mention of it, so here goes...

I use IDEA with a pretty large project (approx 7500 source files, many jars
etc), and have the project set to auto-load when the app starts. This takes
a while, but I can live with that. It also takes a lot of memory (according
to task manager, the java process takes approx 180mb total), again not
really a problem. The weird thing is this: when it has finished loading, and
is just sitting there idle, the java memory usage is still going up by about
600k/s. It never stops - I once left it over night and the next morning my
machine was completely frozen up. The only way I have found of stopping the
leak is to go to File->New Project and then clicking the "..." next to
"Compiler Output Path". As soon as I do that, the memory usage stops going
up (but it doesn't go back down again). I don't actually create the new
project, I just hit cancel, but the problem is cured anyway.

I have to always remember to do this every time I start IDEA, or in a few
hours my machine will grind to a halt. Any help would be appreciated!

Some details which may be useful:
Ariadna build 636, JDK 1.4.0.1 on NT4
Twin processors/1gb ram
No source control, source files all on local disk

By the way - fantastic IDE!
