I'm not even saying "Don't do a JDK 1.4 version yet". I just want a more stable 1.3 compatible version before it's not supported any more. I sympathize with wanting performance improvements that will come free with JDK 1.4. But don't leave me with a broken #629!
Two weeks ago there was a lot of discussion about "I wish JetBrains would stop all this feature development and make it more stable." I came down firmly on the other side: "It's an EAP build, and they'll focus on features first and stability later." Now that I know that there's not going to be a "later" for me (for many months!), I really wish they would spend a little while going for stability to fix up the known issues (and wait a week for more issues to be found and reported), and make JUST ONE more stable JDK 1.3 release. -David Mankin On Wed, 5 Jun 2002, kesh wrote: > The same here, besides debugging 1.4 application using 1.3 JDK is painfully > slow. > So I can say that I'm also waiting for 1.4-compatible version. > > /kesh > > > "Cdric Champeau" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote in message > adl52p$gs8$[EMAIL PROTECTED]">news:adl52p$gs8$[EMAIL PROTECTED]... > > Well, for I am a Linux user, I am definitely waiting for the > 1.4-compatible > > version, since > > it introduces a great performance improvement in GUI components (IDEA is > > MUCH slower on Linux, > > due to poor UI performance). > > > > But I can understand why you're upset... > > > > > > > _______________________________________________ > Eap-features mailing list > [EMAIL PROTECTED] > http://lists.jetbrains.com/mailman/listinfo/eap-features > _______________________________________________ Eap-features mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://lists.jetbrains.com/mailman/listinfo/eap-features
