Hi all,

Im very happy to see a split window function in the eap, but IMHO it is not complete. The purpose of splitting the editing pane is to enable viewing of two files at once, ala emacs. This is a tremendously useful thing to have, but it seems that Idea's split editor pane only allows you see to different parts of the same file ? or am I missing something ?

The intuitively useful interface, again in my humble opinion, would be to allow loading of files into different panes based on which pane has the current focus, ie which one contains the flashing cursor. There would be no disruption to the current interface layout this way.

any other opions ? anyone else dying for emacs style split windows in Idea ??

cheers,
 Lawrence.
