There are several web-based cvs applications that do this for you. I also use Tortoise CVS which integrates CVS into the Windows Explorer. One of it's nifty features is 'View Web Log'. This automatically open a browser open to the web-cvs page. No configuration required. It automagically guesses what the URL should be for a particular file.
Maybe IDEA could just open a browser to the appropriate web page to provide this type of functionality. cc "Eduardo A.
