I love IDEA. I just wish it was a little less memory hungry and a little more
responsive.
Maybe you could identify the biggest memory hogs and make those features
optional.
Possibly introduce different "modes" of operation:
- High Speed Coding
- EJB Development
- JSP Development
- Servlet Development
- Heavy Refractoring
- etc.
Each of these could turn on/off a combination of optional features to maximize
productivity in those situations. Making this a one-click option from the main
GUI would enable users to rapidly switch from mode to mode. Of course, there
would be an expected pause while IDEA configures itself in the new mode.
