I like to use the Emacs Keymap, but when using an uncommon
command I would like to use the default keymap to invoke
it, as the default keypresses are the documented, and a
frequently commands are referred to by their default keystrokes
rather than their names.

It would be nice to have a new command
"Swap to Default Keymap for next command"
which you could bind to a key in your favourite keymap;
in "Emacs" I might bind it to "Alt-X" so if I press
"Alt-X", the next keystroke(s) are interpreted using
the default keymap, e.g.

Alt-X, Ctrl-F

invokes the Search/Find operation because Ctrl-F
is bound to that operation in the Default keymap.

I hope you find the idea of interest.

regards,

Tim
