That's what it does; the output appears in the CVS console, while the dialog 
"files are identical" appears. Now, if there was a way to save the console 
content to a text file, you'd have your patch file (hint to IntelliJ :-). 
Until this is available, you can copy the content (see context menu) and 
paste that to a text/patch file.
