I'd like them to stay on one line (not multiple lines), truncate the file names in the tab a bit if necessary, and then scroll the tabs to the right (they way most every tabbed Office application does, as an example). I would love it even more if the most recent tab was always on the left side (i.e. always visible), and that the tabs always reordered according to the most recently used tab to the left. That way the ones I'm working would always be "right there".
