I like hints, but for things like code errors (undefined method/variable,
missing catch, etc) that once resolved make the hint go away. Once the
situation is resolved, the hint disappears and I can continue coding.

But for hints like "add final", etc, what happens if in a specific instance
you decide you don't want to do that? The hint (and the marker - underline,
color, etc - that the hint is there) is always on with no way of turning it
off - except by turning them all off. This will be very distracting.

Also note that I always add the final modifier to everything that can be
final, so that I would like a hint to add or remove (if the variable is
assigned to) the final modifier.

This could be acceptable if each hint of this kind could be permanently
turned on/off on IDE Options.
