+1. I should be able to do both Ctrl-N and Ctrl-Shift-N.
Or ctrl-N/Ctrl-Shift-N could be constraint to the opened files.
Or they would first propose an already opened file. That way even if you do
not have to remember if opened it, it would guide you all the same.
