Build 507
This is a followup to an earlier issue about line endings. I've run
into a problematic situation. I'm not sure if this can really be said
to be a bug, but it is a dangerous situation that IDEA might want to
watch out for.
In some of the java source I have received from another developer,
there are lines with ^M in the middle of a line. Specifically, some
of those lines are along the lines of:
// A generic comment here^M Foobar baz = new Foobar() ;
At first it looks like the "Foobar baz = new Foobar() ;" portion was
commented out, but if you look closely, you realize that it was never
meant to be.
Somewhere in the process of doing code layout and converting back and
forth, I managed to remove the ^M without moving the valid code to a
new line. I'm not sure if IDEA actually did it or if it was my
cleaning up the remaining ^M characters that did it. I'm inclined
towards the latter. However, maybe IDEA should spot situations like
this and point them out to the user?
