Interestingly I complained several weeks ago that the context menu applied to the current selection even if the current selection was scrolled off screen causing unexpected things to happen if I right clicked on something to rename it or to jump to its definition. At the time the idea was floated that the right click outside a selection should move the insertion point.
Windows isn't terribly consistent since both behaviours exist often in the same application. At the moment I'm typing in Outlook which moves the insertion point. Yet in a text field in a dialog it doesn't move the insertion point. Its impossible to keep all of us happy. -- Mark -----Original Message----- From: Bill Uetrecht [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Thursday, October 25, 2001 01:02p To: Idea Early Access List Subject: [Eap-list] Context menu changes insertion point One thing I find annoying is that when I right click to bring up the context menu, Idea moves my text insertion point. Also clicking outside of the menu to dismiss the menu (I know I could hit escape, but it's just habit) moves the insertion point again. I'm running build 509 on Windows 2000.
