I run 1600x1200 but instead of increasing the DPI to 144 from 96, I simply
increase the size of the various fonts on the desktop in Windows.
Right-click on your desktop, select Properties. Click the Appearance tab.
>From there change all of your fonts from 8 point to say 10 point. That will
allow you to keep the 96 DPI (which many applications I've noticed assume).
Your fonts will now be higher definition. Next, in IDEA, do the same thing.
Bump up the size of the fonts.

I always recommend against changing the DPI because there are too many
circumstances where applications are not tested for it and flat out don't
work right (overlapping fields, missing fields, etc.)
