Not that simple though ;-)

I do 99% of my development on a laptop, and so do several of
my colleagues. This means that <HOME>, <END>, <PGUP> and <PGDOWN>
is positioned really awkward on the keyboard, whereas <UP>, <DOWN>
are generally accessible.

As for "where am I" confusion; a simple line-marker between
the first and last item would solve it I think.

Good question. NO!
The <HOME> and <END> keys get you there and then there is
no confusion "where am I" after mistakenly got to top after
hitting <DOWN> one more time than neccessary.
