Mike, The only evidence I have is that other java IDE's (such as JBuilder, Forte) do not have these latency issues when working with dynamic views. I just did a checkout/uncheckout and each took over 1 minute to reflect the change in IDEA. Did the same in JBuilder 6 Personal and the response was almost immediate. To my knowledge, JBuilder has no special hooks into ClearCase, so I have hope that you guys can find a bottleneck in your product and fix it.
