Hello EasyBuilders,
In about two weeks FOSDEM, one of the biggest open-source conferences in
(Western) Europe, is being held in Brussels, Belgium (Feb 2-3 2013).
The EasyBuild team has submitted a couple of talk proposals to the
various tracks/devrooms, of which two got accepted:
* Sat. Feb 2nd 2013, 5pm @ the FOSS for scientists devroom (Jens Timmerman)
see https://fosdem.org/2013/schedule/track/foss_for_scientists/
* Sun. Feb 3rd 2013, 4.30pm @ the Python devroom (Kenneth Hoste)
see https://fosdem.org/2013/schedule/track/python/
The focus of the talks will (hopefully) be slightly different due to the
different expected audience, so feel free to come and see both talks and
join in on the discussion that might result from them.
Several members of the HPC-UGent/EasyBuild team (Kenneth, Jens, Stijn,
Andy, Luis, ...) will be there, together with other people from the
EasyBuild community (Fotis, Petar, Aaron, anyone else?).
We would like to take the opportunity for a small social event (read:
dinner + beers afterwards). For that, the proposal is to tag along with
the Python guys on Saturday evening.
Anyone who would like to join should subscribe to the doodle at
http://www.doodle.com/9k9bssgzsb4ebtk4 (please add (EB) next to your
name to indicate you're part of the EasyBuild pack).
A couple of other talks that should be interesting w.r.t. EasyBuild
(feel free to add more):
* Building RPM packages from Git repositories with git-buildpackage:
https://fosdem.org/2013/schedule/event/gbp/
* Package management and creation in Gentoo Linux:
https://fosdem.org/2013/schedule/event/packaging_gentoo/
We are trying to get a batch of EasyBuild stickers printed in time for
FOSDEM, come and see us if you'd like some!
See you there!
Kenneth
