Hi *, first, congratulations to all for the great work!
Let's highlight it also as important release for Bioinformatics/HPCBIOS, given that it includes major packages for that domain; I would like to especially thank Ken for debugging obscure build issues here and there on top of always being resourceful and dealing with mundane aspects. It's no accident that this category of applications is now the richest (though the work done for certain other packages is very respectable). Although I wish we had crossed 500/200 target (*) for the psychological effect of it :) this is an astonishing result by any measure, given the amount of time we save from system engineers & users at many HPC sites: It is often assumed that you can just read a bunch of documents/wikis and all goes fine to build software but, reality is much more tough - especially, if you don't have EasyBuild for the automation part. Based on the uni.lu experience, every hour we invest in the tool comes back to us multiplied as time saved from future activities! Long live EasyBuild! cheers, Fotis (*) We are bound to pass that metric very very easily within next week or so; what is more important is to somehow notify users that certain builds are more difficult than others, more often than not due to upstream package distribution peculiarities (as examples: MTL4, Tornado & VSC-tools ;-) fyi. Last prerelease commit still runs as a testing @uni.lu & we're 380+/180+!
