Yup, you're right. The echoServer does not (yet) have a
dynamic-DNS capability. We'll be embedding a dynamic-DNS
client into it in a future release, however. It'd be terribly useful,
as you point out. :)

With regard to Robert Burdge's comment. It seems to me that there is
still a problem if the echoserver IP address changes. I have my
echoserver on my target computer and do use a DNS redirection scheme
(uniquename.no-ip.com or similiar). My echoVNC (and remote access PC)
Echoserver tab addresses the uniquename.no-ip.com and so if IPs change
on the echoserver you can still reach it.
My current concern is not that the echoserver IP address will be
dynamically reassigned but rather that the echoserver computer will
reboot and at present echoserver is not a service.

Robert:
Heya. Yes, EchoVNC's "Partner-ID" solves the dynamic IP
address
problem. In fact...the concept of running a client piece of software
that
connects to a server to help establish connections...is pretty much
identical between dynamic-DNS software and EchoVNC itself.
Our intent is that EchoVNC users should always be able connect
with each other, regardless of IP address. The only time you may need
to know an IP address is when you initially connect the EchoVNC
clients
to the echoServer. After that...it should all be IP-free.
cheers,
Scott
