Lemme see if I got this straight, because I got a bit into the process and it didn't do what I expected. I really would appreciate a bit o' 'elp :-)
My starting point is UltraVNC (w/DSM plugin)that works over the Internet*, but not from work (due to the firewall). I suspect I'll need to use port 443, but that will be next week's installment! So I download echoServer_1_32_Setup.exe** and run the install, and download EchoVNC_1[1].3_Setup.exe and run that install. Everything seemed to be okay (I guess), but it said 'no VNC server is running'. Pressing check again didn't do any good. But I WAS running UltraVNC - I was USING it at the time to do those installs! So, I thought before I sunk a lot of time into this, I'd see what I'd done wrong. I thought this was supposed to work with any flavor of VNC. Am I wrong about that? --Dale-- * Using NoIP.com because I've not got a static ip. ** I took this path (rather than use the demo server) because I figured I'd buy the echo server if it worked for me (I'll need more than about 10 minutes of connection time). ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.Net email is sponsored by: NEC IT Guy Games.
