Arend:

I'll have to check to be sure but...I believe EchoVNC does,
on exit, attempt to copy its HKCU settings to HKLM. When it starts,
it looks to HKLM first and if nothings there, it starts with HKCU.

The problem we have is, of course, many users don't have
admin access to their own PC's (eg, they're on a "work PC"), and
so writing to HKLM is off limits to them.

Also...please *do* feel free to tell us how to write the
program. :) It got to where it is now because of a lot of interested
participants.

cheers,
Scott

Dear Paul and Scott,

Not that I'm telling you how to write your program (since I think you're doing
an terrific job so far) but why are there settings being written to HKCU?.. I
mean, wouldn't it be better to write settings to HKLM?

Regards,

Arend

        Scott,

        I just had a thought...

Even if you do "wrap" echovnc in another program to allow it to run as
a service it will still attempt to look in HKCU for the settings which
I assume won't be available before logon.

        *shrug* it's worth a try I guess.

        Thanks,
        Paul
