        It's just a friendly, joint effort. Many VNC users have a
"favorite" version, and it's often easier to just echoWare-enable all
of them than try to change anyone's mind. :)

        Good point! I don't use .vnc files, but I can see that we
should support them. Right now, I'm fairly sure it wouldn't work in
any sense. We'll try to repair that soon...

        TightVNC (and some others) have that "feature", by setting a
"DisableTrayIcon" value in the registry to "1". If you search for that
term on their website, I'm sure you'll find it.
