Hi all!Hi Ren,
I saw that this is a more or less french mailinglist, but I dont
understand french at all. So Ill write in english and I hope that this
isnt a problem. Now to my Problem:
----------------------------------------------------------------
I followed the instructions in the readme-file (which is written in
frensch and I tried to understand as well as possible) and installed the
package under my Linux distro. Afterwards I edited the adsl,
chap-secrets and pap-secrets file and run the startmodem script. So
far so good. Initialising and Firmwareload were done well, but the
modem-setup stoppet at block 166, writing waiting....
So I read the FAQ at the Webpage etc. and decided to do my own
synch.-file, as its recomended in the FAQ. I did this whit the usb-sniffer software which is in the tutorial on the
webpage. (btw. I cant explain, but the log file didnt stop to grow. It
gotta blew up to about 1 GB , even I removed the filter - after
restarting windows, it stopped?! So it was very difficult to get a file
which is about 10 megs of size. After 3 turns I was early enough with
copiing, that the size was about that 10 megs. Perhaps its crashed?!)
Running the startmodem script again, whith my new synch-file (created
with the script) I got about 20 Blocks further then before, but it still
sucks.
Now I dont know what to do anymore. I think its still the synch file,
which doesnt fit, but I dont know how to get or construct a better
one.
So here are the details of my System running: *******************************************************
- kernel version : 2.4.16-4G (updatet from 2.4.4-4GB distro update)

Ren

Before making your own .bin file, you can try all the .bin of synch_bin archive :
http://eciadsl.flashtux.org/eciadsl_synch_bin.tar.gz
Unpack this into /etc/eciadsl and run eciconftxt.sh to change your .bin
Between each attempt, unplug/replug your modem.
Keep us informed of the result. If no .bin works, you can come on IRC, we'll help you.
Read you soon,
Cordialement / Best regards
Sebastien.
