Welcome to one of the worst parts of JavaME development.  We are finding 
at mFoundry, that we have to go through various services to get things 
signed appropriate for each carrier.  It is a real pain.   In addition, 
we are also finding that the root certificate authorities aren't all the 
same across devices.  A secure http server certificate doesn't seem to 
work for all devices.  The whole thing is pretty ugly.  Are you looking 
for information in the US?
