Mimetype is being sent from the client side starting with the MSIE BH version from Feb. 2. I've just tested with the M2 tag of MSIE BH and all the XLS, JPG, PDF, ODP, ODS, ODT and ODG files are well recognized. On the other hand, server side detection of the mimetype is a good idea, for the sake of consistency.
