Change default tree expansion behavior when using mult-select

Currently when making a multi-selection on a navigation tree, if you close a
folder with a node selected, then click on another node in a different folder
to multi-select it with the original selection, the folder containing the
original selection expands. This can be a problem when screen space is limited.
We want to change this default behavior so that if you close a folder, and then
make another selection of a node in a different folder, the original folder
does not expand.
