Thank you Jane for this action.

I'll get to work right now and write something to add to your letter to the
world. I found this discussion group a while ago, when I put up my ecofem web
site. I've had little time to participate in listserves. Now I realize it's
necessary and the time must be made.

I'm fortunate to be part of the Ecofeminist webring. Through my site I've learned
from writers and curious onlookers that we are severely under-organized. People
have written and asked how to start a 'chapter' in their area or how to become an
ecofem and all I could offer were directions to this list serve and a few sites
and books that have helped me along. Truly inadequate, that was my first thought.
Perhaps I need more solidarity and some way to mentor and encourage the many out
there who want and need to participate.

Something else I've learned through the website is that there are quite a few who
are intimidated or offended by the notion that deep ecology and ecofem principles
belong to well-educated western middle-class righteous do-gooders with little
understanding of the true reality of global suffering.

This is no where near my understanding of ecofem, but it permeates every
conservation I've had with anyone who skims the cover of Ecofeminism. I just keep
doing what I do and hope it surfaces through the stereotype, but it would benefit
to have... I don't even know what it is, seems something's missing in the bigger
picture of ecofem.

Unlike local, regional, national actions or campaigns, I don't know how to apply
my activist functions to the big picture on the ecofem front. I'll write
something for Jane's letter to the world. It's a beginning. Thank you for this
action.

love, peace, hope
