CANADIAN SOCIETY FOR WOMEN IN PHILOSOPHY
                            CONFERENCE
                   QUEEN'S UNIVERSITY, KINGSTON
                        OCTOBER 25-27, 1996

                          CALL FOR PAPERS

                   TAKING ISSUE WITH OUR ISSUES:
RECONSIDERING THE PRESUPPOSITIONS OF FEMINIST THEORY

The Program Committee invites papers of 10-13 pages, prepared for
anonymous review. Abstracts of more than 1000 words will also be
considered, although completed papers are preferred. The conference
theme will be interpreted generously, and papers in any area of
philosophy are encouraged; but papers that address the theme are
especially welcome. Contributors must include (for grant application
purposes) the following information on a separate page: degrees (with
dates), recent and relevant positions, recent and relevant
publications, and a short (250 word) abstract. (This requirement
should not deter graduate students from submitting.) Two copies of
the paper are required. Presenters must be members of C-SWIP at the
time of the conference.

The committee also invites symposium proposals and suggestions for
book panels. These proposals, which will be referred, must include a
one-paragraph description of the topic being suggested and a list of
proposed participants with some indication of their willingness to be
involved.

Deadline for receipt of papers, abstracts, and proposals is FEBRUARY
14, 1996, but early submissions are strongly encouraged. All
submissions should be addressed to Susan Babbitt, Department of
Philosophy, Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario, K7L 3N6.

Program Committee: Susan Babbitt, Sue Campbell, Jackie Davies, Angela
Fernandez, Jane Isaacs-Doyle, Christine Koggel, Adele Mercier, and
Andrea Nicki.
