Doubtless it is the case that there are people on this list who are not in college, and who are not or have not been participants in feminist academic conferences. However there are feminists everywhere, and some of them are in universities (not everyone in the world uses the word 'college' to define tertiary institutions) and some of them are academics. Further, given that you apparently have never been to an academic conference I find your characterisation of them to be not only misleading and misplaced but also in somewhat intemperate language (and using what I also consider to be a masculinist and offensive metaphor and I DO think that is something for which there is no place on this list). We all have things to offer this list, but it might be helpful if you would think a little before you post. Lorraine
