If it is any sign of hope a growing number of my neighbors in suburbia are moving away from the pesticide intensive cultivation of their lawns to more organic processes, including making their yards produce food in healthy ways. I wouldn't say it is a major movement yet, but I am often surprised at who is doing this. They are not all "wild-eyed radical environmentalists" -- not by a long shot... Not much, but a sign of hope I think....
