Stefanie Rixecker ECOFEM Coordinator ------- Forwarded Message Follows ------- CALL FOR PAPERS Papers are invited for the sixth annual Interdisciplinary Gender Studies Conference Central Coast Campus, University of Newcastle, Ourimbah, NSW Friday, 4 June 1999 Proposals may be in any discipline or cross-disciplinary in nature, and may be individual papers or panels. Suggested themes include the evolution of masculine identities, gender and education, and the social and cultural consequences of trauma but all topics related to gender will be considered. Postgraduate students are particularly encouraged to participate. Presenters will be allocated 20 minutes for their papers (approximately 2500 words). The keynote address will be given by Lyndall Ryan, Foundation Professor of Australian Studies at the Central Coast Campus. The Campus, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year, is located at Ourimbah and is accessible via the F3 Freeway and Ourimbah Railway Station. The conference will include lunch and will provide opportunities for discussion. Our intention is to provide a less formal setting for a creative and reflexive exchange of ideas, opinions, and experiences among the participants. Abstracts of 200 words for both free standing papers and papers within panels should be submitted, preferably in computer file form, by 15 April 1999. Those selected for presentation will be considered for publication by the refereed Journal of Interdisciplinary Gender Studies (jigs) published by the University of Newcastle.
