The cutting edge of controversy cannot be reduced to the tokens of gender
chauvanism.
It is inconsistent to challenge me personally about my capacity to give you
freedom. As long as Islam denies this freedom to women and you fail to
address it comprehensively, I do have the room to liberate and intend to do
so to the fullest. I shall not stop as long as anyone remains in bondage.
No sexist language can gloss this away, I'm afraid.
I am happy to cooperate as you suggest so henceforward let us engage
constructively as you yourself suggest. Please therefore give me the full
list of your Islamic feminist references and we shall enter into
constructive dialogue and critique and see what further needs to be done.
I shall accomodate in true love to any reformation of Islam which genuinely
provides full reproductive, educational, social and political freedom to
all women. Be my leader if you will, but make sure to liberate all women
for the sake of life.
This way you will find we are on the same side after all.
