I courteously apologise to you if you feel insulted. Please now demonstrate
good will and good faith by forwarding a full list of Islamic feminists and
I'll check out every name I have omitted fully and incorporate what they
have to say fairly, probably in consultation with a Palestinian Islamic
feminist woman colleague.
I have already indicated strong support for Khatami, and the women
supporting change in Iran. Every other criticism is utterly well-founded,
especially of the Islamic feminists in Sudan and slavery and circumcision.
Your personality-based assertions are inappropriate by comparison with the
immense problems at hand. If you want to help liberate women please forward
the list to all of us openly and let us get on with the good work.
For every criticism I have received today there is a woman burning alive,
being raped, disembowelled or 'lapidated' as the Iranians call it. If you
all want to throw me off the list for defending these victims against
cultural hubris of partial feminists, so be it.
They tried to throw Yeshua of the cliff at Nazareth too for saying Naaman
the Syrian and the widow of Sidon were the elect in the eyes of Elijah and
Elisha. So much for being ejected by the Roman Catholic University of
Boston! Go ahead - make my day! Make hystery!
Just can't "get over it myself" - freeing all women from bondage worldwide
is the saving of nature into the bargain. Yet what do we find here?
