I have a couple of other suggestions to add in re: books:

Truth or Dare by Starhawk
The Chalice and the Blade by Rianne Eisler
The Partnership Way by Rianne Eisler

I agree with Jacque's suggestion on _The Fifth Sacred Thing_, it is an 
incredible book, whether you are spiritually inclined or not.  A great 
story, both in terms of spirituality AND activism AND utopian vision, as 
well as a great social commentary about the power-over paradigm and what 
it could lead to.
