Academic field is open, with the exception of English; preference given to candidates whose expertise complements the disciplinary and/or interdisciplinary experience of the department. Doctorate required for appointment to tenure-track position; candidates nearing completion of the doctorate (ABD) may be considered for a lectureship (temporary position) with the possibility of conversion to tenure track. Candidates must show: potential for successful scholarly activity that can lead to publication, conference participation, and/or creative community involvement necessary and appropriate to tenure. Candidate should be able to teach two or more of the following General Education courses: Intro Women's Studies, Women of Color in the U.S., Critical Thinking, Women in Other Cultures, Women in History, Women and Aging, Representations of Women. We have a new and rapidly growing undergraduate major and a popular minor. Faculty share responsibility for program and curriculum development; student advising; and teaching of major/minor core courses, electives for the major/minor, and General Education offerings.
