Tenure track Humanities Position The Philosophy Department at the University of Central Florida seeks a tenure track Assistant Professor for appointment in a Humanities position beginning August 2000. Teaching load is 5 courses per academic year, with the possibility of optional summer teaching. The successful candidate must be able to teach core courses in our Humanities degree program, which is organized around themes of knowledge, responsibility and society. Teaching will include 2 sections/year of an Honors course in Humanistic Traditions (a historically oriented course emphasizing the philosophy, literature, religion, art of different world cultures). In addition, the successful candidate should be able to teach at least one of the following core courses: Modern Humanities, Contemporary Humanities. OAS: Open, but preference will be given to candidates whose research area is comparative cultural studies and/or religious studies. Ph.D. required by time of application. Teaching experience required. Publications preferred. Salary competitive.
