Call for Papers
        Explorations of Spatial Boundaries 

The Society for Philosophy and Geography will hold its Second Annual
Conference at Towson University, Towson, Maryland, on April 28 - 30, 2000.
The goal of the Society is to create an interdisciplinary conversation in
order to broaden perspectives and to consider practical  implications.  

        Possible Topics (other relevant topics are welcome)

˙       terrestrial and extra-terrestrial boundaries
˙       greening of space
˙       bioregionalism
˙       ecosystemic boundaries
˙       physical-spiritual boundaries

˙       deep/shallow ecological boundaries
˙       geography of resistance
˙       mapping the sacred
˙       regioning linguistic boundaries
˙       eco-centric /homocentric boundaries 
˙       indigenous reconstruction

˙       poetics of boundaries
˙       hermeneutics of boundaries
˙       politics of zoning
˙       segmentation theory
˙       politics of  boundaries
˙       marginalized living

Papers or presentations should not  exceed 30 reading minutes. This is an
interdisciplinary conference, and speakers are requested to consider the
diversity in the audience as they prepare their presentations. Accepted
papers may be submitted for publication in the Society’s journal.  
Send abstracts of approximately 200 words by February 25, 2000.
