Assistant Professor - Women's Studies and Philosophy


Eastern Washington University invites applications for a tenure-track
Assistant Professor in Women's Studies and Philosophy, employment to begin
September, 2000.  Joint appointment will be 50% Women's Studies and 50%
Philosophy.

Requirements:  PhD in Women's Studies or Philosophy with a specialization
in the other discipline.  Evidence of strong commitment to teaching,
research, and  program development in Women's Studies and Philosophy.

Teaching responsibilities in Women's Studies include undergraduate courses
in the core curriculum, such as issues in Women's Studies, Intro to Women's
Studies, Feminist Theory, and other upper-level Women's Studies courses.
Teaching responsibilities in Philosophy include lower-division and advanced
courses.  Preferred specialties could include one or more of the following:
Gay and Lesbian Studies, Feminist Ethics, and Feminist Philosophy.

Washington University, 526 5th Street, Cheney, WA  99004-2431.  Screening
for the position begins Mid-June, 2000 and continues until the position is
filled.
