The Hamilton Naturalists' Club, Ontario, is searching for an enthusiastic, well-organized
individual to fill the position of Community Education and Outreach Coordinator for the
Nature in Your Neighbourhood project. The Hamilton Naturalists' Club (HNC) has initiated
the Nature in Your Neighbourhood project to introduce local residents to the biodiversity
and natural areas in their own community, and encourage them to discover and protect their
natural history. Funding from the Ontario Trillium Foundation has enabled the HNC to create
a Community Education and Outreach Coordinator position to pull together the HNC's most
popular and successful programs and offer them in a coordinated fashion; the Coordinator
will also be responsible for undertaking the proposed new initiatives. The goals of the
project, for which the Community Education and Outreach Coordinator will develop resource
materials to compliment the new curriculum for schools and produce educational materials
such as posters on local endangered species; will tailor existing HNC educational materials

a public program featuring free lectures on natural history in facilities. The successful

The Secretariat of the North American Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC), based in Montreal, is seeking a Program Manager, Environmental Informatics and Bio-Informatics. The role of the successful applicant will be to develop, coordinate and manage tri-national initiatives in the fields of environmental bio-informatics and biodiversity information networks. The primary responsibilities of the position will be to coordinate and implement new projects in this area or new project components arising from new tools developed through the North American Biodiversity Information Network, with special emphasis on invasive species, climate change and health. The incumbent will also work with institutions and agencies that collect, manage or use biodiversity data to collaborate on providing more open access to information across North America. An integrated, interdisciplinary approach will be required in the planning, development and implementation of these projects. The successful applicant will also work collaboratively with other program managers who have comparable responsibilities for leading related projects emphasizing other environmental issues or areas. This program manager will work under the general direction of the Director of Programs. The Alliance is a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection, restoration, and continued enjoyment of New Mexico's existing and eligible Wilderness Areas. New Mexico Wilderness Alliance seeks an energetic, proactive individual to help ensure that all lands proposed for Wilderness designation by the New Mexico Wilderness Alliance remain eligible for eventual Wilderness designation. This person will act as a liaison for the organization with all public lands agencies in New Mexico and will ensure strict enforcement of agencies' regulations and advocate for protection of proposed and existing Wilderness areas. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in environmental studies, policy analysis, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience A law degree or ample legal experience is preferred. The candidate will have one to three years experience in Grassroots Organizing and/or Environmental Advocacy; will have experience working with environmental policy and dedication to public lands protection are requisite will have a familiarity with conservation issues, particularly public lands issues; and, experience with writing, editing, media, communications. The Department of Resource Economic and Policy, in the College of Natural Sciences, Forestry and Agriculture, at the University of Maine wishes to appoint a professor in Environmental Economics. The successful candidate will have a  Ph.D. in Resource/Agricultural Economics or Economics with primary emphasis in Environmental Economics; have strong theoretical and quantitative training with demonstrated interest in applied policy analysis; excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to teach graduate and undergraduate courses. It is expected that applicants will conduct research in one of the following areas: water quality, air quality, the interface between agriculture (or other business activities) and the environment, health, forestry, or other areas complementary to the mission of the department. The candidate is expected to establish a high quality research program including a commitment to seeking and obtaining external funding. Student advising, other departmental duties and professional and public service are also expected.
