CALL FOR PAPERS

For possible publication in a book entitled: "Feminist Perspectives on
the Emotions"

Over the last 40 years philosophers have become increasingly interested
in the emotions. Feminist philosophers have been in the forefront of
this movement and have been especially concerned with such emotions as
love and caring. The aim of this book is threefold: 1) to explore the
history of feminist analysis of the emotions; 2) to develop a better
understanding of emotions that have not traditionally been the focus of
feminist work on the emotions; and 3) to examine new directions in
feminist work on the emotions.

Specific topics of interest may include, but are not limited to:

-love
-sympathy
-fear
-shame
-anger
-empathy
-jealousy
-courage
-envy
-rage
-depression
-moods

Authors with relevant proposals should send a 2-5 page abstract that
clearly summarizes the article and explains its relevance to the book
project; authors with completed drafts are encouraged to send a full
draft with a 100-200 word abstract.

Deadline for submissions: May 1, 2003.

Note: Those with interest who cannot meet the deadline with full
proposals are encouraged to contact the editors with their ideas; we may
be able to grant an extension for complete proposals.
