Deep Dive: The Ten Steps of the Ecological Restoration Process

January 28, 2:00-4:00 PM ET

This workshop provides an in-depth introduction to the ten-step ecological
restoration process, focusing on core ecosystem principles and the transition
from historical and current conditions to project execution and refinement.
Participants will explore each step—starting from baseline measurements and
design through to monitoring and adaptive management—using real-world examples
to gain a comprehensive understanding of how to apply this structured framework
across various restoration projects. Facilitated by Steven Apfelbaum.

Large Landscape Restoration in Principle and Practice

February 18, 2:00-4:00 PM ET

This workshop examines the application of the ten-step ecological restoration
process to large-scale and complex projects. Participants will explore how to
integrate ecosystem principles, assess conditions over time, and tackle the
unique challenges of large landscapes. Case studies of expansive projects will
showcase the process in action—from initial evaluations and goal-setting to
construction, monitoring, and adaptive management—highlighting effective
strategies for managing complexity and ensuring long-term success. Facilitated
by Steven Apfelbaum.
