We are pleased to announce the upcoming Wildfire Risk Modeling with BurnP3+ Course<https://apexrms.com/course-burnp3-plus/>, taking place in-person at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, A.B., from April 28th to 30th, 2025. BurnP3+<https://burnp3.github.io/BurnP3Plus/> is the Canadian Forest Service’s latest open-source tool for forecasting wildfire risk. Expanding on its predecessor, Burn-P3, the new BurnP3+ platform allows users to simulate wildfire ignitions, burning conditions, and fire growth under different fire growth models—enabling the comparison of wildfire risk across alternative “what-if” scenarios. This hands-on course, co-hosted by scientists from the Canadian Forest Service’s Northern Forestry Centre<https://natural-resources.canada.ca/science-and-data/research-centres-and-labs/forestry-research-centres/northern-forestry-centre/13485> and ApexRMS<https://apexrms.com/>, provides an opportunity to:
* Learn the fundamentals of spatial wildfire risk modeling * Configure and run wildfire burn probability models using BurnP3+ * Compare wildfire risk across different management scenarios * Automate workflows with R for scripting and analysis * Publish and share model results online via SyncroSim Cloud Register by February 28 to take advantage of early-bird pricing! For full details and registration information, visit our Course Details<https://apexrms.com/course-burnp3-plus/> page. We hope to see you there!
